Callidus Design has been appointed as the M&E consultant for the major refurbishment works at Bute Building, St Andrews. The project originated as an upgrade of the existing emergency lighting, fire detection and alarm system and escape routes but has quickly expanded to include the refurbishment of a large part of the ground floor to accommodate the University’s IT Department. The construction of new laboratories on other floors within the building has also been introduced to the project brief.
